About the Walk:
Last year we visited the LRT Launch tunnel. This year we will see how the tunnel is excavated and lined. We visit a new bridge over Black Creek, and learn from the Recreation Department how the new Rec Centre was delayed again by Mother Nature.Keelesdale Park has the potential to become a jewel servicing four adjoining Neighborhood Improvement Areas (NIA’s), or it could continue its decline. Meet people working to energize renewal, and learn some history of the destruction of Hurricane Hazel and July 2013. See the historic Kodak Building 9, and learn about refocuskodak.ca . See the UP Express bridgework, and learn about the new Transit Hub.Last years walk was very popular, with local politicians and agency staff participating in the discussions. The walk ends at the award winning Mount Dennis Public Library where there will be refreshments and an opportunity to learn more about the community
Because the walk is popular, we start the first group about 1, and then every 20 minutes or so. Last group starts at 2PM.
The route has been shortened and most presentations will now be INDOORS because of the forecast for rain.
