Community Association to Get Emergency-Ready
Mount Dennis Community Association will host a public meeting to explore how local residents can make themselves ready for hurricanes, floods, power-outages and other disasters. The idea was sparked by the Guardian’s November 1 editorial in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, which stressed the need for emergency preparedness and proposed ways for residents associations to help.
Staff from the City‘s Office of Emergency Management will be among those taking part in the meeting, which will also look at last winter’s Pearen Park natural ice rink, and how it can be improved for 2013. The meeting, to be held at the Legion Hall, 1050 Weston Road, 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, will end by setting the Association’s priorities and electing new Board members for next year. All are welcome.
