Program for Grandparents and their Grandchildren

Wednesdays, March 23-April 20, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Grandparents will connect with other grandparents, participate in gentle fitness, and create arts and crafts with their grandchildren, aged 0-6 years.

Auditorium of the Mount Dennis Branch, Toronto Public Library, 1123 Weston Road

A two-stage competition is underway for a public artwork to be located at the northwest corner of Weston Road and Dennis Avenue.Five artists/artist teams were selected as the semi-finalists in the first stage of the competition and invited to submit proposals.  The proposal are on display for review and comment.

At 8:30 Meet up with your neighbours in various Mount Dennis  locations* – bring a candle, lantern or flashlight and walk together to Eglinton flats / Topham pond.

At 9:00 join all our candles together and share hot chocolate and granola bars with your neighbours as you marvel at the stars/night/trees/animals …  sharing ideas to honour the earth.

9:30 head home – hopefully having met someone new, seen something new and/or learned something new that you can put into practice  to save the world.

Community Kitchen meets every Friday from 6 -9 at Mount Dennis United Church – everyone is welcome.  Next meeting is March 25 – Jane’s walk planning and Youth Movie Night

Interested in participated in Foodshare’s Good Food Box program?  Community Kitchen is coordinating pick-ups every other week.  Want to get in on the next delivery then email mountdenniscommunitykitchen@gmail.com to place your order.

Mount Dennis Walking Club meets on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am at the corner of Eglinton and Weston Road.  Each week is a different route thru Mount Dennis.

Free Yoga classes on Wednesdays and Fridays at Mount Dennis United Church – 7pm

Mount Dennis Social club meets on Wednesdays from 5 – 8 pm at Mount Dennis United Church.  Share in food, cards and social time.  Open to all 19+

Play & Learn meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 – 11:00 am at Dennis Avenue Community School.  Play and Learn is a program where parents and caregivers and their children (ages 0 -6) meet others and play interactively in a learning environment.  The Program includes creative activities, drama, music, pre-reading, math concepts, large and fine motor activities.
